European Markets End on a High Note Before Christmas Break

Shortened Trading Session Sees Gains

As the shortened trading session on Tuesday came to a close, the FTSE and CAC 40 indices in Europe saw modest gains. Meanwhile, the Euro Stoxx 50 and the German DAX remained closed for the day, observing the Christmas holiday.

FTSE 100 and CAC 40 Performance
At 1:35 pm CET, the British FTSE 100 rose by 0.42%, driven by a 3.87% surge in Airtel Africa PLC. The French CAC 40 also traded 0.21% higher at 2:00 pm CET.

Currency Movements
The Euro experienced a slight decline of 0.11% against the dollar at 2:06 pm, while the pound sterling gained 0.14% against the American currency at the same time.
