Meta's Next-Gen Ray-Ban Smart Glasses to Feature Built-in Displays

Meta and EssilorLuxottica Team Up for Advanced Smart Glasses

Meta Platforms Inc. is reportedly planning to integrate displays into its next-generation Ray-Ban smart glasses, according to a recent report by the Financial Times. The eyewear, developed in collaboration with EssilorLuxottica, is expected to hit the market in the second half of 2025.

The addition of small displays aims to enhance user experience by showing notifications and messages from Meta's virtual assistant. This move is part of Meta's broader strategy to position its smart glasses as a viable alternative to smartphones for users' primary device needs.

Accelerated Development of AR Glasses

In parallel, Meta is reportedly accelerating the development of its augmented reality glasses, Orion, which were launched in September. The company envisions Orion as a future consumer product, aiming to compete in the rapidly evolving smart wearable market.
