European Commission Approves Merger
The European Commission has given the go-ahead to a merger deal between Nvidia Corporation and Run:ai Labs Ltd, an Israeli tech startup. The Commission believes that this agreement will not raise any competition concerns within the European Economic Area.
"The transaction does not reach the notification thresholds set out in the EUMR [EU Merger Regulation] as Run:ai's current revenues are negligible," the EC stated in a recent release.
Investigation and Additional Probes
The $700 million acquisition was initially investigated at the request of the Italian National Competition Authority. Reports have also indicated that the deal was under scrutiny by United States authorities.
