Asia-Pacific Markets Mostly Lower Amid Central Bank Rate Moves

The Asia-Pacific stock markets experienced a mostly downward trend on Thursday, influenced by recent decisions from key central banks.

The United States Federal Reserve opted to further ease its monetary policy by a quarter percentage point, while the Bank of Japan maintained its interest rates steady.

In China, the Shanghai Composite shed 0.33% at 7:18 am CET, contrasting with the Shenzhen Composite's 0.57% gain a minute later. Meanwhile, South Korea's Kospi Composite dropped 1.82% at 7:20 am CET, and Hong Kong's Hang Seng fell by 0.44%.

Australia's S&P/ASX 200 slid 1.70% at 7:01 am CET, and Japan's Nikkei 225 declined 0.68% at 7:21 am CET. The dollar strengthened by 0.30% against the yen, trading at 155.15600 at 7:22 am CET.
