Fugitive Businessmen Share Warm Wishes on Social Media
In a surprising turn of events, fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya and former Indian Premier League (IPL) founder Lalit Modi exchanged pleasantries on social media, with Mallya extending birthday wishes to Modi.
Modi, the ex-IPL chairman, took to social media to wish Mallya, writing, "Wishing you my friend #vijaymallya a very #happybirthday - life sure has its ups and downs, we have both seen it. This too shall pass. May the year ahead be your year. And you are surrounded by love and laughter. Big big hug."
Responding to Modi's post, Mallya, who is currently fighting extradition from the UK to India, said, "Thank you my dearest friend... we both have been wronged in a country we tried to contribute to."
Both Mallya and Modi have faced significant legal and financial controversies in India. Mallya, accused of fraud and money laundering, owes Indian banks approximately Rs 9,000 crore. Modi has faced allegations of financial irregularities during his tenure as IPL chairman.
