Vietcombank has reported a slight decrease in the greenback's value against the Vietnamese Dong, selling it at VND25,483, which is a 0.008% drop from Monday's rate. This decline follows the State Bank of Vietnam's decision to lower its reference rate by a similar margin to VND24,270.

Despite the official rate drop, the dollar saw a 0.29% increase on the black market, reaching VND25,725. This fluctuation indicates a complex market environment where various factors influence currency valuation.

Globally, the dollar index remains steady at 106.77, showing a 5% gain for the year. Meanwhile, the yen is trading at 154.085 per dollar, reflecting the Bank of Japan's likely decision to maintain interest rates as per economists' predictions.

In other currency markets, the euro stands at $1.05207, marking a near 5% drop in 2024, while sterling remains stable at $1.2689. These figures underscore the varying fortunes of global currencies in the current economic climate.
