Federal Probes Target Musk and SpaceX

Tesla Inc. CEO and X Corp. Chairman Elon Musk, along with his company SpaceX, are reportedly under several federal investigations concerning their compliance with U.S. state security regulations, according to a recent report by The New York Times (NYT).

Sources familiar with the matter reveal that at least three investigations have been initiated by the Defense Department's Office of Inspector General (DoD OIG), the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security (USD(I&S)), and the U.S. Air Force (USAF).

These probes allegedly stem from Musk's alleged failure to fully report his discussions with various global leaders to relevant agencies, and complaints from some employees to the DoD OIG suggesting that SpaceX's security reporting policies are not stringent enough.
