The Decline of Two Titans
Reliance chairman Mukesh Ambani and Adani Group founder Gautam Adani, once towering figures in the centibillionaires club, have seen their fortunes dwindle below the $100 billion mark due to various business challenges.
Ambani's energy and retail businesses have been struggling, raising concerns about his company's debt. Meanwhile, Adani's empire has been shaken by a US Department of Justice probe, potentially affecting his funding and contract-winning capabilities.
Adani, who has denied allegations of bribery, has seen his fortune peak at $122 billion in June, only to evaporate following US allegations, reducing his current worth to $82 billion. Ambani, Asia's richest man, has also faced a decline, with his fortune peaking at $121 billion in July and now standing at $97 billion.
