Chow Yun Fat's Mansion Price Slashed
Hong Kong actor Chow Yun Fat has reduced the asking price of his luxury mansion by HK$3.2 million as the city's real estate market struggles. According to Hong Kong Commercial Daily, the property, named "Sunshine Garden," was initially acquired for HK$128 million in 2010 and listed for HK$220 million in 2022.
The estate, covering 236 square meters with an additional 186 square meter flower garden, has never been occupied or rented out since its purchase. Chow has been selective about potential buyers, allowing only a chosen few to view the property.
This mansion is part of Chow's high-value real estate portfolio, which includes at least seven houses and a plot of land collectively worth over HK$1 billion. The move to lower the price reflects the broader trend among Hong Kong celebrities, including actors Carina Lau and Michele Reis, who have also reduced their property prices to expedite sales.
Chow, 69, had a humble beginning before his rise to fame through TVB dramas like "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" and "The Bund." Over his illustrious career, he has garnered numerous awards, including three Hong Kong Film Awards for Best Actor and two Golden Horse Awards for Best Actor.
