Stable Oil Rig Count in the US
In the week ending December 13, the number of oil rigs in the United States remained unchanged at 482, according to the latest Baker Hughes weekly rig count report released on Friday. This stability contrasts with a yearly decline of 19 oil rigs.
Gas Rigs on the Rise
Meanwhile, gas rigs saw an increase, with the number rising by 103 compared to the previous week. Despite this, the total number of rigs in the country stood at 589, unchanged from the week prior and dropping by 34 year-over-year.
Canadian Rig Count Fluctuates
In Canada, the total rig count fell by three to 223 but rose by six compared to the same period a year prior. The oil rig count decreased by four to 120 on a weekly basis, while the number of gas rigs was up by one to 71. On an annual basis, the number of oil rigs climbed by two, while the number of gas rigs increased by four.
