Ashok Leyland to Increase Commercial Vehicle Prices
Ashok Leyland, a flagship firm of the Hinduja group, has recently announced a price hike of up to 3% on its entire range of commercial vehicles, effective from January 2025. This decision aims to partially offset the impact of inflation and higher commodity prices.
The extent of the price increase will vary depending on the model and variant, affecting all products across the range. The company stated that this move is necessary to mitigate a part of the input cost impact, as inflation and higher commodity prices have necessitated this price increase.
This announcement follows a similar move by Tata Motors, which said it will increase prices of its trucks and buses portfolio by up to 2% from January 1, 2025, citing rising input costs. Passenger vehicle makers, including Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai Motor India, and Tata Motors, along with luxury carmakers Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi, have also announced price increases for their vehicles starting from January.
