Inflation in the United States
The annual inflation rate in the United States rose to 2.7% in November, as reported by the Department of Labor Statistics on Wednesday. This slight increase from October's 2.6% aligns with market expectations. The monthly growth of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) stood at 0.3%, in line with predictions.
The energy index showed no monthly changes but declined by 3.2% annually. Meanwhile, the food index experienced a 0.4% monthly increase and a 2.4% year-on-year rise.
The core CPI, excluding food and energy, increased by 0.3% month-on-month and 3.3% over the past year, highlighting a stable yet slightly rising trend in core inflation.
