Thousands of users experienced disruptions across Meta Platforms Inc.'s social media apps on Wednesday.

According to the outage-tracking website Downdetector.com, apps including Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook, Facebook Messenger, and Threads were affected.

Users had trouble sending messages via WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram, while others reported difficulties using the tech giant's apps and website.

Shares of Meta Platforms were up 2.24% to sell at $633.19 apiece at 2:02 pm ET.
