Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) Keeps Rates Unchanged
In a recent announcement, the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) decided to maintain its current interest rates, aligning with market expectations. The cash rate and the interest rate on Exchange Settlement balances will remain at 4.35% and 4.25%, respectively.
This decision marks a notable shift in the RBA's tone, as the policy statement no longer includes the previous cautionary note of "not ruling anything in or out." Additionally, the bank omitted a line from November that emphasized the need for restrictive policies. Instead, the RBA expressed confidence in the sustainable movement of inflation towards its target.
