Asia-Pacific Stock Indices Show Mixed Performance
On Monday, major stock indexes in the Asia-Pacific region exhibited a mixed performance, influenced by recent economic data from China and Japan.
China's consumer price growth in November fell short of expectations, while Japan's third-quarter GDP grew by 0.3% on a quarter-on-quarter basis.
Australia's S&P/ASX 200 index dropped by 0.11% at 3:03 am CET, followed by South Korea's Kospi Composite, which declined by 1.68% a minute later. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index also fell, dropping by 0.28% at 3:06 am CET. Meanwhile, on the Chinese mainland, the Shanghai Composite index rose by 0.21%, and the Shenzhen Composite index traded flat.
Japan's Nikkei 225 index bucked the trend, gaining 0.24% at 3:18 am CET.
The US dollar traded flat against the Japanese yen, exchanging at ¥149.9635 at 3:19 am CET.
