European Markets Open Higher on Investor Confidence Data

On Monday, major stock market indexes in Europe opened higher, driven by an update on investor confidence in the Eurozone. Investors are also assessing the potential impact of recent global events, such as the opposition forces' capturing power in Syria and South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol avoiding impeachment.

The DAX gained 0.50%, with Commerzbank AG rising 1.50% at 9:02 am CET. The FTSE 100 increased by 0.23%, with WPP PLC jumping 3.50% at the same time. The CAC 40 and Eurostoxx 50 both saw gains of 0.76% and 0.40%, respectively, with Kering SA leading the latter index with a 2.64% increase at 9:03 am CET.

In currency markets, the euro weakened slightly against the dollar, trading at $1.05634 at 8:59 am CET. Meanwhile, the pound sterling strengthened against the US currency, reaching $1.27603.
