Dollar's Decline in Vietnam's Black Market
The greenback experienced a 0.23% decrease, trading at VND25,730 in unofficial exchange points. Meanwhile, Vietcombank maintained its rate at VND25,463.
The State Bank of Vietnam held its reference rate steady at VND24,251, reflecting a cautious approach amidst global currency volatility.
Global Currency Market Dynamics
Globally, the yen surged to a six-week high against the dollar, driven by expectations of a Bank of Japan interest rate hike. According to Reuters, the dollar fell 1.27% to 149.62 yen, marking its lowest point since October 21. This week, the dollar is on track for a 3.38% loss against the Japanese currency, the largest weekly decline since July.
The dollar index also dropped 0.31% to 105.74, reaching its lowest level since November 12.
